ABOUT US

Launched by members of the Community & Public Sector Union (CPSU) who want to rally the community behind our awesome public services. We firmly believe that our country becomes a better place when our public services get the support they need and our hardworking public servants can do their thing. It's all about making sure our public services can thrive, grow, and innovate while creating job opportunities and career paths for everyone.

Together, we've had some incredible wins in protecting our essential public services from being snatched away by privatisation. Our community has banded together and achieved some seriously awesome stuff in recent years.

Our past campaigns

  • Safeguarded Medicare from the imminent threat of privatisation under the Coalition Government's plan. We fought tooth and nail to ensure that this vital public service remains accessible and affordable for all Australians.

  • Prevented the Government from selling it off for profit. By keeping it in public hands, we safeguarded transparency and accountability in financial market

  • Stopped the Coalition Government's agenda to deteriorate its efficiency and hand it over to their mates for personal gain. We believe in maintaining a fair and efficient immigration process that upholds the rights and dignity of individuals.

  • In the ACT, establishing a powerful precedent in the fight against privatisation. We have shown that public services should remain public, firmly rooted in the hands of the community to ensure their integrity, accessibility, and effectiveness.

  • Led a campaign alongside dedicated workers to put an end to the harmful robo debt scheme. Additionally, we vehemently opposed the outsourcing of Services Australia jobs, standing up for the hardworking employees who are the backbone of this essential service

  • Took a stand against the devastating cuts imposed on the CSIRO and ABC by the Coalition government. We mobilised the community, rallying widespread support to protect these invaluable institutions from crippling reductions. Recognising their vital contributions to scientific advancements, environmental protection, and unbiased information, we worked tirelessly to ensure that the CSIRO and ABC could continue to fulfill their crucial roles.

  • We campaigned to improve services for our veterans by stopping the privatisation of the Department of Veterans Affairs. We had a good win securing substantial boost to existing capacity but there is more to do to.
