CSIRO is under threat

Stand with CSIRO staff and support Australian science and research!

CSIRO is Australia’s national science agency – from inventing wifi to the research that informs our pandemic and climate change responses – we all rely on their research and innovation every day.

However, CSIRO staff are facing hundreds of job cuts across the organisation - including Health and Biosecurity, Agriculture and Food, Manufacturing, Data 61 and with up to one-third of enterprise support positions set to go - with fears of more to come.

Sign the petition to call on CSIRO Chief Executive Doug Hilton and Minister for Science and Industry Ed Husic to stop the cuts and properly resource our national science agency.

CSIRO staff have delivered an open letter to Minister Ed Husic requesting his urgent intervention to stop the widespread job cuts that are being rolled out across their organisation and save the CSIRO. Read the open letter here.

From research units being dismantled, to support roles that help scientists to do their jobs - workers who’ve dedicated their careers to Australian science are being made redundant.

Critical research projects in health and agriculture and food that have been years in the making are being abandoned, and expensive lab equipment and facilities left disused.

Stand with CSIRO staff and support Australian science and research!
